Aranga Reserve, Donvale

East-side pups get ready to roll the day away! We guarantee you’re going to love hanging out with all the local pups at Aranga Reserve in Donvale. This fully fenced dog park offers two sets of agility equipment, a separate fenced training area, large grassy fields for games of chase and fetch and shrubby fence lines full of delightful smells.

Aranga is a wonderful spot for younger pups who are new to dog parks. Unlike many dog parks, this one isn’t dominated by large breeds. You’ll find groups of pups of all sizes and ages keen to socialise with your dog. On the other hand, if things become a bit overwhelming Aranga Reserve is large enough that you can also find your own quiet spot to roll and sniff around.

There are two entrances. The main entrance is off Eastway Avenue next to the kids playground. Here you’ll find ample parking. There’s also a second entrance at the bottom of the hill off Aranga Crescent. This is the best entrance for pups who are a bit anxious and may not want to be greeted by a thousand friends at the gate. The entrances are double gates too so you don’t have to worry about any escapees.

It’s worth keeping in mind that Aranga Reserve is very busy on weekends. Eastern Melbourne is short on fenced dog parks so people come from far and wide. Located just off the M3, it’s also incredibly convenient. This is great if want to make sure that your pup has friends to wear them out but otherwise try to visit early in the day.

All the local love for Aranga means the park is well-worn and a bit rough around the edges. Around the main entrance and water fountain there is a large dust bowl that gets muddy in the rain. That’s unlikely to bother your pup though. So bring a towel and enjoy the large amount of secure space dedicated to your doggo’s entertainment and pleasure.
